Self-Set Challenge: Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River.”
I set a challenge for myself. I spent “many months” on it (ie: worked on it on and off over the span of a few months). Towards the end, I got lazy. Decided I would just quickly finish it off and post it so I can move on.
The idea came when one of my old bosses asked me, on a lark, if I sing R&B. I told him I hadn’t really tried but that would be cool.
Nearly everything you hear in the recording came from the original track—amazing wealth of vocal bits you can find in it, when you dredge through. Timberlake genius.
